Are you in grades K-5 and love animals? If so, the Humane Society of West Michigan has an exciting club designed especially for you!
Starting October 27, the 2012 Pet Adventure Club will meet at the Humane Society one Saturday a month from 1:30-3:30 pm throughout the school year. You will get firsthand experience in animal care, make cool crafts, play fun games and meet dogs, cats and other great animals, while exploring eight monthly animal themes!
Sign up for all 8 sessions for only $80, or choose the sessions you want to attend and pay $12 per session and a $10 registration fee. All participants receive a Pet Adventure Club t-shirt.

October 27 - “Dog Training 101”
Do you know how to train dogs? Training dogs involves more than just teaching dog how to sit! Learn about the patience that it takes to train through interactive games and maybe try to teach a dog at HSWM a trick or two.
November 17 - “Save-A-Pet”
Do you know what to do in an animal emergency? Learn some basic first aid for pets as well as how to kee
p them safe and healthy through the holidays!
December 22 - “Be a Responsible Pet Owner”
Owning a pet is a lot of work! Come and explore with us how to take proper care of all pets and get some hands on experience with the pets at the shelter!
January 26 - “Feline Frenzy”
It’s time to play with the kitties at HSWM! Every year, HSWM receives thousands of cats who need good homes. Come learn more about these fascinating felines while helping to improve their lives at HSWM!
February 23 - “Critter Careers”
Do you dream of working with animals when you grow up? There are many different jobs that involve pets. Come learn about the many careers for pet lovers and how to make sure you are on the right track!
March 23 - “Bunnies and Rats and Gerbils, OH MY!”
Discover the world of small animals. Did you know you can train rats to do tricks? Or that bunnies can be litter box trained? Come spend some time with our littlest members of the HSKC.
April 27 - “Rowdy Reptiles”
Learn about our not so furry friends and why they can be great pets! Meet some scaly visitors and learn what goes into being a reptile owner!
May 18 - “Be Kind to Animals”
Celebrate “Be Kind to Animals” week by learning what you can do to be a kind and compassionate kid! Also, learn about what you can do to fight animal cruelty in our world.
Each program includes animal interactions, games, crafts, and lots of fun!
(Kids who are interested in attending but are older than the maximum age can attend for free as junior counselors if they meet the qualifications. Contact Jen for more information!)
