Pet Therapy Dog Workshop
Saturday, February 21, 10am-2pm Humane Society of West Michigan Bottrall Training Room
Do you have a "people" dog? Have you thought about doing Pet Therapy with your dog but you don't know where to start? Humane Society of West Michigan will once again be offering a Therapy Dog Workshop! HSWM will help even the most novice owner prepare his or her dog for doing therapy work and help you assess your dog to see if he or she is ready. Qualities for a good therapy dog candidate are a dog that is relaxed, calm, loves people, confident and well-mannered. This seminar will help you and your dog start the journey of being a therapy dog team and help you explore the many options out available. Cost is $35 and includes lunch.
To register, please contact Jen Self-Aulgur by Friday, February 13 at email@example.com or 616-791-8066. Space is limited!

Bark in the Dark
Humane Society of West Michigan
This 3rd annual glow-in-the-dark 5K run/walk is an exciting event to benefit the animals at Humane Society of West Michigan! There is something special about sharing a walk with your four-legged friend. It is a communal experience, a chance to bond with your pet and those that you encounter along the way. Join other pet owners in a fun 5K run/walk at Humane Society of West Michigan.
Your $30 registration (along with the donations you raise) will help the Humane Society of West Michigan in its mission to protect and care for all animals. Register yourself and you will be given the opportunity to create a fundraising page where you can send the direct link out to your contacts for donations.
Invite your family and friends to join you at Bark in the Dark. You can also join with your company and become a team captain. Teams can have an unlimited number of people and together you can raise more money for the animals and share a meaningful experience. Each team member needs to register separately and they will have the option to join the team in the registration process.
Bark in the Dark is for anyone who owns a pet, wants to walk in memory of a pet that has crossed the rainbow bridge is thinking about adopting or who is looking for a fun 5K to participate in! Feel free to bring your pet along for the walk or come on your own. Dogs are welcome to attend but must be well-behaved (able to handle being around other dogs and people), up-to-date on vaccines and leashed.
The 2014 Bark in the Dark raised over $42,000! Click here for photos of last year's event.
**Strollers are welcome at this event so bring the little ones in your family along! Also, please note this event is not timed due to us respecting the traffic signal at 3 Mile Rd and Wilson Ave. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are hoping to time the event in 2015.
